Harm Reduction Treatment Center Peer Support Specialist

About the role

The Harm Reduction Treatment Center seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide direct peer support services to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals in recovery and a strong understanding of harm reduction principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients
• Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
• Collaborate with other treatment team members to develop and implement care plans
• Assist clients in accessing community resources and services
• Maintain client records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment or peer support services
• Valid driver’s license and access to own transportation
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with motivational interviewing techniques
• Knowledge of harm reduction strategies
• Passion for supporting individuals in recovery
