Harlem New York - Assistant Director PROS

About the role

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) seeks an Assistant Program Director to provide clinical oversight and direct clinical interventions to PROS program participants as per NYS OMH Part 512 Regulations. The role involves managing a caseload of up to 10 consumers, facilitating groups, supervising trainings, and overseeing the referral process.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical oversight and direct clinical interventions to PROS program participants.
• Manages a caseload of up to 10 consumers, including case management, referrals, and vocational assistance.
• Facilitates approximately 5-6 groups per month, covering CRS, ORS, IR, and Clinical Services.
• Supervises PROS trainings and ensures staff/interns receive necessary training in evidence-based practices.
• Coordinates on-site trainings and oversees the provision of supervision for PROS interns.
• Oversight of the PROS group curriculum to ensure fidelity to PROS services and participant needs.
• Processes PROS referrals, ensuring accurate and timely completion of intake documentation.
• Reviews recovery counselor documentation within 30 days of admission.
• Creates and processes reporting to measure participant service utilization and improve service delivery.
• Works with Quality Improvement Coordinator and Fiscal Department to identify and address service growth areas.
• Collaborates with Marketing Department to promote PROS services in the community.
• Serves as acting director in the absence of the Program Director.
• Affords individual and group supervision, manages group services schedule, and assists in planning activities.

Requirements

• Clinical licensure in Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Creative Arts (Drama, Music, Dance, Media), or related field.
• Experience working with persons living with severe mental illnesses and substance use issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Capacity to manage, develop, and motivate staff to enhance program performance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of PROS program model and regulations preferred.
• Understanding of Harm Reduction philosophy preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Individual Dual Diagnostic Treatment, Wellness Self-Management, Individual Placement and Support, Cognitive Remediation, and Family Psycho-Education.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of experience working with persons living with severe mental illnesses and substance use issues.
• Ability to assess both macro and micro issues within the PROS program.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate staff to enhance program performance.
