About the Role: We are looking for a highly hands-on Hardware Technician to support rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and lab improvement across multiple engineering spaces. This role focuses on operating and maintaining SLA and FDM printers, supporting mechanical assembly, and keeping labs organized and functional. You will spend most of your time on your feet—moving between labs, fabricating parts, assembling hardware, and supporting engineers in a fast-paced environment. How You’ll Make An Impact Operate and maintain 3D printers, including troubleshooting and material handlingSupport rapid prototyping by fabricating and finishing parts using shop tools and basic fabrication equipmentPerform mechanical assembly, including drone hardware and similar systemsInstall, modify, and maintain lab and shop infrastructure such as benches, shelving, and test equipmentMaintain organization and functionality across shared lab spacesMove between multiple labs and tasks throughout the day to support engineering teamsIndependently identify and execute the highest priority tasks in a fast-paced lab environment What Makes You a Good Fit Strong hands-on experience with 3D printing, including machine operation, basic troubleshooting, and material handlingExperience using shop tools such as saws, drill presses, sanders, and other fabrication equipmentExperience with mechanical assembly, ideally including multirotors, RC aircraft, or similar systemsExperience setting up or improving lab or shop environments (e.g., mounting equipment, building workstations, organizing shared spaces)Comfortable working on your feet and moving between multiple tasks and locations throughout the dayAbility to proactively identify and execute the highest priority work in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with general lab operations, including consumables management and maintenance routinesExperience with machining tools such as manual or CNC mills is a plusBasic experience with soldering, wiring, or cable harnessing is a plusExperience with CAD tools such as Fusion is a plusObtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions. Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $149,000 - $180,000*.
