About the role

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Software/Hardware Engineer to aid in Manufacturing, Testing, and Delivery of numerous Part Task Trainers for the U.S. Navy. The candidate will aid in, and provide oversight for, the day-to-day manufacturing process of the HAR and OK-410 Part Task Trainers to support the Naval Station Great Lakes A-School.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical.
  • Aids in the manufacturing of production units by wiring components, testing connectivity, installing equipment, installing software, and testing deliverable end items.
  • Provides oversight for the day-to-day manufacturing process of the HAR and OK-410 Part Task Trainers to support the Naval Station Great Lakes A-School.
  • Supports the education of sailors prior to deploying shipboard by utilizing complex Part Task Trainers.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE with the US government is required at hire.
  • CAD experience (Solidworks) or similar program.
  • Experience soldering, stripping wires, and crimping pins.
  • Strong ability to read/understand schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • PCB level troubleshooting and repair capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical field.
  • Experience with Part Task Trainer design and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Navy-specific requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Proficiency in electronic and/or mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience with CAD software (Solidworks).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Schedule

Full-time position with occasional travel to Naval Station Great Lakes A-School.
