Hardware QA Engineer (6289)
Location: 100% onsite - San Jose, CA
Pay Range: $23 - $24.23 per hour
About the Role
itD is seeking a Hardware QA Engineer to perform laboratory testing and thermal validation for electro-mechanical and telecommunications products. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with prototype setup, thermal and acoustic testing, thermocouple installation, and wind tunnel operations, along with a track record of producing accurate test results and clear technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing and thermal validation of electro-mechanical and telecommunications products.
- Set up prototypes for thermal and acoustic testing, including thermocouple installation and instrumentation.
- Operate wind tunnel equipment to support thermal and acoustic testing and validation activities.
- Perform testing related to power management, heat sinks, and fan-speed performance.
- Analyze and document test results using Microsoft tools and established reporting practices.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering and cross-functional teams to support product validation activities.
- Communicate test findings, observations, and technical recommendations through clear written and verbal reporting.
Internal Responsibilities
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
- Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
- Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
- Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
- Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.
Requirements
- Laboratory testing experience with electro-mechanical and telecommunications products.
- Experience working as a Thermal Validation Engineer for electromechanical products.
- Experience setting up prototypes for thermal and acoustic testing.
- Experience with thermocouple installation and related test instrumentation.
- Experience operating wind tunnel equipment for testing and validation.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with telecommunications and networking product testing involving power management, heat sinks, and fan-speed testing.
- Knowledge of telecommunications test standards, including GR and NEBS.
- Hardware engineering experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft tools for technical reporting and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
