QA Engineer (49986)
About the role
The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of various products currently in production as well as prototype products for magnetic recording heads, including monitoring processes and test parameters using Statistical Process Control (SPC) as well as analyzing data and providing reports to the manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and monitors quality of various high volume and newly launched products
- Reviews and analyzes data using SPC, creates reports, and presents findings; recommends corrective action as needed
- Collaborates with other product engineering groups regarding process-related issues and product requirements to ensure customer specifications for reliability and performance are met
- Reviews and analyzes backend magnetic performance data and creates reports regarding performance/correlation and provides feedback to design and manufacturing teams
- Conducts complex failure analysis testing to isolate detractors to yield and performance; may recommend corrective action
- Reviews the changes related to wafer processes and the integration scheme including process characterization
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics, and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Three years of experience working in the magnetic recording head or semiconductor industry, including quality assurance and control
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications, including JMP or similar data analysis tool
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry principles, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of failure analysis and quality assurance methodologies and ability to perform root cause
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
- Knowledge of magneto-resistance technology will be desirable
- Able to analyze data, create various reports, and recommend corrective action
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and management
- Able to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
- Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Able to conduct root cause analysis and drive results to successful conclusion

Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics, and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum three years of experience working in the magnetic recording head or semiconductor industry, including quality assurance and control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including JMP or similar data analysis tool

Pay
The annual rate for this full-time position is between $93,000.00-$120,000.00 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience.
Schedule
Working primarily in an office environment from Monday thru Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs, including working in the fab, mainly to audit, or traveling from building to building as needed.
