Hardware Lead (Sign on Bonus)
BAE Systems is seeking a senior technical leader to assist in leading advanced program pursuits in a Hardware Lead role. In this position, you will lead a group of highly skilled electrical, computer, and mechanical engineers within the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions team. This team provides next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions, delivering unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability.

You will assume critical ownership of technical, cost, schedule, and program execution while growing your leadership skills within a multi-disciplined, Agile engineering team. Responsibilities
- Lead multi-discipline, state-of-the-art hardware teams of 20+ people through hardware engineering design and development.
- Apply expertise, decision-making skills, and independent judgment in technical areas.
- Lead Design Review activities to ensure program success.
- Communicate essential information and coordinate with engineering disciplines, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management.
- Assist in developing program schedules, earned value criteria, and productivity metrics for efficient performance.
- Ensure successful implementation of the established Hardware Development Process.
- Support program capture and proposal teams with hardware baselines, including development and cost/scheduling estimating.
- Work with Discipline Section Leads to determine program staffing needs and ensure the right person is in the right job.
Requirements
- BSEE or BSME with 8+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Solid technical leadership skills for multi-disciplinary engineering teams engaged in designing and developing state-of-the-art electro-mechanical products.
- Experience leading teams that include Mechanical (ME), Electrical (EE), Firmware (EE), and Design Drafting (DD).
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics.
- Experience implementing established Hardware Engineering design processes to achieve product quality and consistency.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for interfacing with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to develop, implement, and lead design solutions to closure within budget and schedule.
- Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification for Earned Value Management System (EVMS) project management techniques.
- Experience with designing to cost (DTUPC) constraints.
- Design for manufacturability expertise.
- Experience developing compact embedded systems for harsh environments.
- Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes.
- Experience with Electronic Warfare systems or radar systems.
- Active Secret Clearance.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $149,603 – $254,317. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
