  • Support systems integration by working with project teams and vendors to field systems, ensuring the following elements are addressed:
    • Identify and document system-level requirements for range integration to include power, communication, instrumentation, and command & control.
    • Validate existing power, communications, instrumentation, and command and control (C2) by working with other engineers.
    • Develop processes and procedures that will support training and technician competency to operate and maintain equipment.
  • Recommend and conduct testing, equipment modifications, and corrections to design deficiencies through evaluation of operational capability of systems/equipment and review of performance data against standards.
  • Research, plan, and support the design and modifications of existing and new threat and EW systems.
  • Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application.
  • Troubleshoot and effectively resolve system issues that involve working with technicians and vendors.
  • Perform periodic preventative maintenance and support operations when tasked.
  • Provide reports, status, and record activities in a maintenance management system.
  • Identify and document system-level open-loop emitter and closed-loop radar requirements for range integration to include power, communication, instrumentation, and command & control.
  • Validate existing power, communications, instrumentation, and command and control (C2) range interface control documents (ICDs) and update/re-create as necessary.
  • Develop remote operations concept and infrastructure requirements.
  • Support development of the EWIIP Concept of Employment & Life-Cycle Support.
  • Document range modernization needs and generate cost estimates to upgrade the ranges to meet EW needs.
  • Lead project and maintenance teams to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Recommend tests, equipment modifications, and corrections to design deficiencies through evaluation of operational capability of systems/equipment and review of performance data against standards.
  • Travel to remote locations and perform site assessments related to multi-range threat environments, including West Coast Operations that support Open Air Battle Shaping objectives.

  • Follow JT4's systems engineering processes and procedures.
  • Devise appropriate tests to evaluate, debug, and check systems.
  • Document the results of complex analysis and design tasks.
  • Collaborate with Air Force customers to obtain requirements, develop system requirements documents, acquisition and vendor statement of work documents, evaluation tests, and summary reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience and at least five years of related radar, electronic, and data processing/control systems involving fielding, integration, and sustainment work.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electronic warfare (EW) policy, doctrine, practices, and capabilities combined with a thorough understanding of the analytical, evaluative, and administrative methods required for integration, development, and acquisition of training systems.
  • Mastery of IO-related systems analysis and design to serve as technical authority on a wide range of technology and applications.
  • Knowledge of emerging technology to apply new solutions to requirements and to plan advanced projects.
  • Ability to develop new approaches, establish innovative techniques, and identify measurement and evaluation criteria to determine program effectiveness, develop new or modified work methods, and analyze and resolve highly complex problems.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage engineering projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to provide technical direction to other engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Ability to analyze data, resolve problems, and make decisions independently.
