Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). About the role

The Electrical Engineer will be a member of the Leo Inter-Satellite Link Avionics team, focusing on the design of various electrical functions including analog sensor signal conditioning and processing, analog actuator control, and overall monitoring and control across spacecraft interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a variety of tasks, from board design and component selection, to layout review and board bring-up and test.
  • Ensure high quality and innovative designs.
  • Support other Leo colleagues with reviewing and improving board and other electrical designs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware development across the full product life cycle (concept to production at scale) in Consumer Electronics, Power Electronics, Robotics, Aerospace, Automotive, and/or Communications fields or combination thereof.
  • Experience with board reliability designs.
  • Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.
  • Experience in development and test of satellite bus systems.
  • Experience with integration of systems into aerospace/avionics enclosures.
  • Experience developing highly reliable electronics systems for extreme environments.
  • Experience with low-level firmware development and integration.
  • Experience with joint hardware/firmware development; partnering with software engineers to bring-up and test new hardware designs.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines.

Pay

USA, WA, Redmond - $117,300.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually.
