Handler/Shuttle Dr/DOT
Responsibilities
- Provides movement of packages in a safe and efficient manner
- Operates mechanized ramp equipment to load and unload packages
- Performs shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
- Able to walk and stand for designated work hours
- Able to bend and squat for designated work hours
- Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level
- Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location
- Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at work location
- Able to work with power and hand tools
- Successfully completes all basic and re-currency training
- Able to communicate both timely and effectively, in a noisy operations environment
- Able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance
Qualifications
- Non-covered safety sensitive position
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Medical exam required in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations
- Must meet qualifications as outlined in Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
