About the role
The Handbags, Swim & Jewelry Merchant is a collaborative and entrepreneurial role focused on the end-to-end development of emerging categories at Reformation. This is an exciting opportunity to drive incremental growth through the curation of seasonal lineplans, omni-channel buying, trend analysis, and product strategies developed in partnership with the Sr. Director of Merchandising. The Handbags, Swim and Jewelry Merchant partners closely with a variety of cross-functional teams to ensure the product vision translates across all channels. The ideal candidate will be analytical, organized, and data-driven, with excellent communication skills and an ability to combine complex analysis with market knowledge to produce actionable recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Own the seasonal line plan, including style count, SKU architecture, color/material strategy, and price tiering in line with category financial targets
- Manage pricing architecture, including margin targets and competitive positioning
- Analyze daily, weekly, and seasonal performance by style and SKU; deliver clear hindsights and actionable recommendations that shape future development
- Keep a consistent pulse on the competitive landscape, from contemporary to luxury, and translate market insights into line evolution
- Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Materials, and Production teams to align product execution with commercial intent, calendar milestones, lead times, cost targets, and sustainability standards
- Act as the customer expert, ensuring a strong balance of commercial and trend-right attributes
- Collaborate with Planning on buy depth, open-to-buy alignment, and inventory strategy, including receipt flow and reorder logic
- Work with Wholesale to shape channel-right assortments and support market appointments and bookings analysis
- Partner with Marketing and Customer teams to drive launch visibility and full-price sell-through on key styles
Requirements
- 4–7 years of merchandising experience, ideally managing accessories, swim, jewelry, or other emerging categories
- Comfortable giving honest, direct feedback
- Fluency in retail math and comfort owning sales, margin, and inventory outcomes
- Strong analytical toolkit — advanced Excel proficiency, including experience modeling and analyzing inventory levels
- Ability to deal successfully with the complexities of an expanding organization and build process where needed
- Genuine passion for the accessories market and growing new businesses
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for audiences ranging from cross-functional partners to executives

Pay
For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $90,000 – $120,000 plus 10% bonus eligibility, depending on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal compensation equity. This role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a range of factors, including company performance, department goals, and individual contributions. Bonus amounts and eligibility are not guaranteed and are determined at the company’s discretion.
