About the role
The role is responsible for providing academic support to students who require additional assistance in their learning journey. This includes working closely with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support to students with special needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Work with families to ensure they understand and can support their child's educational goals.
- Attend meetings and conferences to discuss progress and plan further interventions.
Requirements
Must have a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, and certification as an educational assistant or equivalent.
Qualifications
Experience working with students with special needs is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic nature are essential.
Skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
