About the role
The primary responsibility is the washing of all restaurant dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment. Completes deep cleaning tasks as posted on a master cleaning schedule. Responsible for equipment maintenance and cleaning. Informs management of any malfunctions of machinery. Is familiar with and follows sanitation rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
- Wash dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Restock items in an organized manner.
- Deep cleans kitchen areas as dictated per shift cleaning schedule.
- Keeps the entire kitchen clean and organized.
- Daily maintenance of dishwasher equipment and report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
- Continuous maintenance of dishwasher and kitchen area as being clean and grease-free.
- During slow times, assist with utility maintenance cleaning as directed.
- Takes clean dishes, silverware, and all glassware to the dining room as needed.
- Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests.
- Promptly reports all concerns to the supervisor.
- During overload or staff shortage time, may function in a Busser or prep cooking role.
- Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
- When needed, assist in other areas of the kitchen due to business needs.
- Ensure that the operation of equipment, tools, and materials is handled safely.
- Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
Requirements
- Needs to work with water and chemicals.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Need to read and understand product labels.
- Able to stand and/or walk for long periods; able to perform repetitive motions with wrist, hands and fingers; able to lift and maneuver 50lbs.
- Effective communication skills - verbally needed to provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
- Available to work all hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
- Must possess or obtain a food handlers certificate within 30 days of employment.
- Requires a criminal history background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Qualifications
- Three (3) months experience working as a dishwasher.
- Three (3) months of experience in food services.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
