About the role

As a Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You will partner with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and assist with seasonal resets and installations as needed. Occasionally, you may also support non-Hallmark products in the stores you service.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day merchandising tasks in the Hallmark department of retail stores (e.g., grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers), including restocking, organizing, and monitoring inventory using a Hallmark-provided mobile device.
• Use technology for daily tasks and to communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and complete merchandising activity surveys.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Provide holiday support during peak seasons (e.g., Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), including additional days, extended hours, and possible holiday work.
• Participate in department resets, including building and installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may require evenings or weekends.
• Support other merchandisers in your territory as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency.
• Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
• Frequently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly kneel, squat, walk, stand, climb stairs, and use step ladders throughout the workday.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Capable of operating a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate is $12.00 – $14.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

• Part-time position with a variable weekly schedule.
• Average weekly hours: 10–12 hours.
• Required availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
• Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
