About the role
As a Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and assist with seasonal resets and installations as needed. On occasion, you may also support products from other companies in the stores you service.
Responsibilities
- Perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores (e.g., grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, mass retailers).
- Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory inside and outside the Hallmark department using a mobile device provided by Hallmark.
- Communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and complete surveys using the mobile device and technology.
- Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
- Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
- Support holiday-related operations, including additional days and extended hours before and after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
- Work on holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, which may include weekends.
- Participate in department resets, including building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
- Support other team members in their territories as needed within the field organization.
Physical Requirements
- Physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency.
- Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
- Consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds; up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Kneel, squat, walk, stand, climb stairs, and step ladders throughout the workday.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
- Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
- Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
Pay
Starting hourly pay rate: $13.00 – $14.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Schedule
- Part-time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Average weekly hours: 6–12 hours per week.
- Required availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
