About the role

As a Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark in stores. You'll collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations. On occasion you may also work with products from other companies in the stores you service.

Pay

• Starting pay rate: $15.50–$17.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
• Paid training provided through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom sessions.
• Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.

Schedule

• Part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
• Average weekly hours: 13–15 hours.
• Availability required the week before and after major holidays (may include weekends).
• Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
• Holiday periods (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) involve additional days and extended hours; may require working on the actual holiday, including weekends.
• Department resets may include evenings or weekends; typically notified two weeks in advance.

Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day engagement: Use a Hallmark‑provided mobile device to restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory inside and outside the Hallmark department. Technology is essential for daily work, communication with supervisors, time reporting, feedback, and required surveys. Professional, courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is vital. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Holiday support: Hallmark’s operations are seasonal. Leading up to and following major holidays, expect additional days and extended hours. On holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, you may be required to work on the holiday itself, which may fall on a weekend.
• Department resets: Participate in team installations and tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Assignments may include evenings or weekends.
• One Team Vision: As part of Hallmark’s field organization, support other merchandisers in their territories as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the workday; up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Kneel, squat, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Climb stairs and step ladders as required.
• Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms; high energy and sense of urgency needed.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to operate a digital hand‑held device to open/read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
• Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
