About the role

As a Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark on the store floor. You will partner with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and assist with seasonal resets and installations when needed. On occasion, you may also support non-Hallmark products in the stores you service.

Responsibilities

  • Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark inventory within and outside the Hallmark department using a Hallmark-provided mobile device.
  • Use technology for day-to-day tasks, supervisor communication, time reporting, feedback, and merchandising activity surveys.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
  • Assume responsibility for the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
  • Provide holiday support with additional days and extended hours around major holidays (e.g., Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), including possible work on holidays or weekends.
  • Participate in department resets, including building and installing fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections; assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may require evenings or weekends.
  • Support other merchandisers in your network as needed across territories.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency.
  • Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
  • Consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing; may require climbing stairs and step ladders.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
  • Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
  • Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

  • Part-time position with a variable weekly schedule.
  • Average weekly hours: 8–10 hours.
  • Required availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Eligible employees receive annual pay increases. Paid training is provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom sessions.
