Job Overview

As a Merchandiser, you'll have the opportunity to work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, your ability to establish retailer relationships, while being the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels as well as support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations, when needed. On occasion you may have the opportunity to work with other products from other companies in the stores that you service.

Salary and Schedule

Your starting hourly pay rate will be $14.50 – $16.50 per hour depending on your skills and experience. Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, etc. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases. This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week. Average weekly hours are between 6 – 10 hours per week. Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required. Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support is also needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers.
• Restock, organize, and monitor inventory of Hallmark products using a mobile device provided by Hallmark.
• Communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and complete required merchandising surveys via the mobile device.
• Maintain professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers.
• Manage the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Support holiday demand by working additional days and extended hours around Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, including possible work on the holiday itself.
• Participate in department resets, installations, fixture building, relocation of card departments, and resetting card sections, typically with two‑week notice; may involve evenings or weekends.
• Assist fellow merchandisers in their territories as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 lb consistently and up to 50 lb occasionally.
• Kneel, squat, walk, stand, and climb stairs or step ladders throughout the workday.
• Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Capability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 lb frequently and 50 lb occasionally.
• Proficiency with a digital hand‑held device for reading documents and interpreting information.
• Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
• Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
