About the role

As a Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark on the store floor. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and assist with seasonal resets and installations as needed. On occasion, you may also support placement of non-Hallmark products in serviced stores.

Responsibilities

• Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory inside and outside the Hallmark department using a Hallmark-provided mobile device.
• Use technology for day-to-day tasks, supervisor communication, time reporting, feedback, and merchandising activity surveys.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Provide holiday support before and after major holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), including possible work on holidays and weekends.
• Participate in department resets, including building and installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may require evenings or weekends.
• Support fellow merchandisers in adjacent territories as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency.
• Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
• Frequently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Kneel, squat, walk, stand, climb stairs, and step ladders throughout the workday.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate is $13.00 – $15.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

Part-time position with a variable weekly schedule. Average weekly hours are 8–12. Availability is required the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, and to support seasonal changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Paid training is provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom sessions.
