About the role

As a Merchandiser, you’ll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and assist with seasonal resets and installations as needed. On occasion, you may also support non-Hallmark products in the stores you service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service work in Hallmark departments within grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers.
  • Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory inside and outside the Hallmark department using a Hallmark-provided mobile device.
  • Use technology for day-to-day tasks, supervisor communication, time reporting, feedback, and merchandising activity surveys.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
  • Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
  • Provide holiday support with additional days and extended hours before and after major holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; may include working on holidays or weekends.
  • Participate in department resets, including building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may require evenings or weekends.
  • Support other team members in your territory as part of Hallmark’s field organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency.
  • Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
  • Consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Kneel, squat, walk, stand, climb stairs, and step ladders throughout the workday.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
  • Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
  • Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate is $13.00 – $15.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

  • Part-time position with a variable weekly schedule.
  • Average weekly hours are between 8–12 hours.
  • Availability required the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
