About the role

Assist teachers with a variety of instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.

Schedule

School year, shifts typically between 7:15 am and 3:30 pm. Exact start and end times may vary based on school needs and allocated hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Flexibility to meet changing student needs and strong tutorial skills
• Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents
• Strong desire to see young people succeed
• Positive attitude and ability to complete tasks independently
• Strong office, computer, oral, and written communication skills
• Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices, and basic instructional methods and techniques
• Willingness to supervise students in community settings
• Must participate in training provided by the Special Education Department
