Hadoop Engineer (Plano or Charlotte)
Job Summary
The Hadoop Engineer (Plano or Charlotte) will support and manage complex Hadoop and Data Science platform operations across multiple environments. Responsibilities include implementing upgrades, bug fixes, and deployments, monitoring system metrics, troubleshooting issues, forecasting capacity needs, collaborating with clients, vendors, and development teams, and maintaining and enhancing cluster configurations, security protocols, and disaster recovery procedures.
What's Needed
- Extensive experience with Hadoop architecture, HDFS, and cluster management
- Proficiency with Hadoop components such as HBase, Kafka, Spark, Impala, and YARN
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, scripting languages, and database management
- Experience with automation and DevOps tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and SVN
- Relevant certifications such as Cloudera Admin/Dev or Cloud/Docker technologies are preferred
