Habitat for Humanity NYC and Westchester: Volunteer Site Leaders Needed for Manhattan!
Description
Habitat for Humanity NYC and Westchester is seeking Volunteer Site Leaders (VSLs) to manage small groups of volunteers at community impact sites. Currently, the focus is on a community center on the lower east side between Avenues C and D, where volunteers will engage in painting activities, including restorative and mural painting. Future projects may be located in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Responsibilities
- Greet volunteers.
- Aid the head Site Leader in monitoring volunteer activities.
- Organize materials on-site.
- Maintain a safe and clean site.
- Ensure volunteers are equipped with proper protective gear, including PPE.
- Attend all events to which you commit, as you will be responsible for managing them.
Requirements
- Experience with or comfort with managing small groups of people.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work from 8 am to 4 pm, typically Monday through Friday, with exact weeks to be determined.
- No Saturday opportunities are available.
- Experience with painting is preferred, but training will be provided.
- Comfort with using common construction tools is desired, although the emphasis will be on painting.
