About the Role

Calls out and verifies food orders to cooks and pantry in a restaurant specializing in fast service and high-volume output. Examines portioning and garnishing of completed food orders, makes corrections with kitchen or service staff as needed, and notifies serving personnel or food runners when orders are ready for pickup. If no food runner is available, the expeditor assists in delivering food to tables. May also prepare and cook quick-prep foods when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Calls out and verifies food orders by removing orders from devices (e.g., wheel, nail board, ticket strips) and communicating them to cooks and pantry staff.
• Examines portioning and garnishing of completed orders; reviews for accuracy and makes corrections with kitchen or service staff as necessary.
• Notifies serving personnel or food runners when orders are ready for pickup; assists in delivering food to tables if no runner is available.
• May record counts of items, ticket times, and quality control issues (e.g., food presentation) and report daily metrics such as entrees served or drawn from supply.
• May prepare and cook short-time foods when applicable.
• Assists servers, bar staff, bussers, or stewarding as needed based on business demands and staffing levels.
• Provides guests with directions or venue information and addresses comments or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Takes ownership of guest problems until resolved and reports all complaints, compliments, or substandard conditions to supervisors.
• Supports team success by helping others without being asked, resolving conflicts, and contributing ideas to improve service and guest satisfaction.
• Adheres to IMGR&C’s appearance, attendance, and communication standards, including working all marketing special events and concerts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of job-related experience in Food & Beverage; equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute.
• Must pass an in-house basic culinary and/or hospitality exam.
• Must supply own work tools.
• Ability to stand for several hours, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
• Must be able to use handheld communication devices and work in a loud, second-hand smoke-filled environment.
• May be exposed to biohazardous fluids, hostile guest environments, or high-stress situations.
