About the role

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of guests and employees within the Tribal Store against various threats including fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. This role involves maintaining security during assigned shifts, escorting internal money transfers, and ensuring the safety of customers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the buildings and grounds to provide overall protection from anything that may jeopardize the welfare and security of the company assets, properties, guests/customers, and employees.
• Ensures the safety of the assets of the IMGR&C Tribal Store by enforcing gaming regulations and responding to emergencies.
• Prepares and submits accident and incident reports, guards and transports chips, tokens, currency, and coins, collects and transports drop boxes, and maintains excellent customer relations.
• Periodically inspects equipment and machinery to ensure there is no tampering and reports any irregularities like fire hazards or security breaches.
• Sounds alarms or calls the police/fire department in case of emergencies and bans violators of rules.
• Registers at watch stations to document time of inspection trips and conducts periodic door checks to ensure security measures are in place.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent, and one to two years of relevant experience. Mescalero Apache Tribal preference; bicultural experience preferred. Valid state driver's license required.

Qualifications

Must have a strong understanding of hospitality behaviors and performance standards, technical skills, and behavioral values. Demonstrates the ability to take ownership of problems and solve them, and to seek help when needed. Possesses knowledge of IMGR&C products and services and can communicate venue information effectively. Adheres to IMGR&C standards, Mission, Values, Hospitality Behaviors, and Customer Recovery Skills.

Skills

Knowledge of gaming regulations, ability to respond to emergencies, and proficiency in using communication devices. Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
