Gypsum Operator (Temporary)

About the role

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for Temporary Gypsum Operators. 2026 Shipping Season; Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 1 week off-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Mix dried gypsum with bag plant system, utilizing small equipment such as forklift to move 1500-2000 lb. bags of gypsum
• Perform general housekeeping/clean-up including sweeping, shoveling and organization of mill area as requested
• Communicate effectively with other operators, colleagues and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards
• Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Team player with a positive team attitude
• General knowledge of small tools and able to work safely with them
• Work day or night shifts as required
• Lift seventy-five (75) pounds on a regular basis
• Perform labor intensive work for extended periods of time in and out of a confined space
