Gynecology Oncology (Surgical OR)- Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant- Atlanta

Responsibilities

• Perform first OR assist duties
• Rounding on patients in the hospital
• Assist in management of post-operative and critically ill patients in the hospital
• Evaluate post-operative patients in the office setting
• Applies specialized skills and knowledge related to the care of patients in the CVOR, ICU, CCU and CVICU areas
• Contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization
• Affirms patient histories, conducts physical examinations, writes progress notes, prepares patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings, obtains psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assumes responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Orders and schedules laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures
• Explains necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedure(s) to the patient, patients family, and staff.
• Maintains record of each patient's progress, consulting with supervising physician when patients progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria

Qualifications

• Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification
• --or-- Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification
