About the role

As a Gyn Oncology Infusion PRN Nurse, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn—whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the facility’s Standards of Performance, ICARE values, and Patient Promise.
  • Assesses, monitors, records, reports, and follows through on symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Creates and maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care, as indicated by the patient’s responses and conditions.
  • Delegates nursing tasks as appropriate and safe, but retains accountability for patient care.
  • Provides individualized education for the patient, family, and/or caregiver throughout the continuum of care.
  • Adheres to standards of safety and infection control in the delivery of patient care.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and complies with all policies and procedures related to the performance of job duties.

Requirements

  • Holds current and active Registered Nurse License from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or higher preferred.
  • BLS certification.
  • Infusion experience required.
  • Oncology Nursing Society Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire for RNs with six months oncology experience or 12 months if no oncology experience.
  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card within 2 years from issuance of Oncology Nursing Society Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Provider Card.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
