About the role
We are seeking a gymnastics coach to positively impact the community through our YMCA programs. This role involves helping children reach their potential and enacting age-appropriate goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment, encouraging and supportive atmosphere for learning YMCA gymnastics programs.
- Evaluate program skills, complete progress reports, and communicate with parents.
- Assist in teaching program skills and character development objectives in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Supervise program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program.
- Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Manage participant behavior using a collaborative approach with supervision and parents.
- Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnasts' skills.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- 3-5 years of experience in gymnastics settings
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills with a desire to meet participants at their level of experience
- Enjoyment from working with children and maintaining positive relationships with their parents
- USAG Safety Certification preferred
