Gymnastics Assistants - Recreation Class Program

About the role

The Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) is seeking multiple temporary Gymnastics Assistants to assist Instructors and work with children of all ages, adults, and instructors in our Gymnastics Program. These roles serve across our program assisting the Recreation Class programs. Candidates in these roles assist in serving Arlington County’s community by offering safe, fun, and quality gymnastics classes for all.

Responsibilities

• Assist Instructors in leading gymnastics classes for children and adults
• Work with children of all ages, including parents and instructors
• Offer support during specialty programs such as camps, birthday parties, special events, teen classes, adapted classes, and adult classes
• Support USA Gymnastics Xcel and Development Program competitive teams for boys and girls

Requirements

• Ability to work with children and adults in a variety of settings
• Positive attitude and ability to interact with diverse groups
• Strong communication skills
• Basic knowledge of gymnastics techniques and USA Gymnastics programs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children and adults
• Passing a background check

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of gymnastics techniques and USA Gymnastics programs
