Gym Operations & Maintenance Lead
Responsibilities
- Oversee evening equipment reset, organization, and readiness in the studios, weight training areas, gymnasium, rock wall, and aquatic center.
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks.
- Complete equipment inventory checks.
- Lead with physical tasks such as moving equipment and resetting spaces.
- Support housekeeping, club attending, and service teams.
- Carry out regular walkthroughs of the entire club to ensure safety, cleanliness, and policy compliance.
- Enforce club policies with professionalism and consistency for adults, teens, and youth.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies according to HFAC emergency procedures.
- Serve as a primary contact for facility and equipment issues while on duty.
- Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional presence.
- Model HFAC’s service standards and support a positive club culture.
- Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or obtain within 30 days).
- Comfortably enter the pool in an emergency if needed.
- Absorb incident documentation and end-of-shift reporting.
- Support closing procedures and communicate key updates to management.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Handy with tools and interested in learning what is needed.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
- Comfortable enforcing policies with members of all ages.
- Able to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable performing physical work and entering the pool if necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in fitness facilities, recreation, hospitality, or customer service.
- Familiarity with gym equipment and fitness floor etiquette.
- Previous maintenance, handy-person, or safety-related experience.
