Gym Attendant

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to program patrons.
• Affords assistance in general recreation programs at an assigned facility, center, or event.
• Performs cleaning and general maintenance.
• Maintains order and discipline by enforcing rules, regulations and safety precautions.
• Works in a safe manner and reports unsafe activity and conditions and intervenes when necessary.
• Acts as a team member maintaining a cooperative attitude with employees, supervisors and staff.
• Performs specific duties as outlined per activity, program or event.
• Aids in activity planning and event record keeping.
• Maintains facility security.
• Provides aid, calls 911, stabilizes injuries until assistance arrives.
• Enforces patron conduct protocols for immediate suspension or ejections for up to 24 hrs, as outlined in Rules of Conduct.

Knowledge, Skills, And Other Characteristics

• Demonstrates excellent communication skills with staff and patrons, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively with various age groups.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Fulfills instructions and policies, written and verbal.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

• Work environment is varied depending on facility, venue and program, indoor and outdoor year round.
• This is a non-benefited temporary position.
