GVP/Chief Health and Science Officer (Hybrid)

About the role

The American Medical Association (AMA) is seeking a GVP/Chief Health and Science Officer (Hybrid) to join our Health, Science, & Ethics team in Chicago, IL. Reporting into our Chicago office, this role requires 3 days a week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Intellectual Leadership/Subject Matter Expertise/Academic Profile/Editorial Output
• Operational Leadership and Oversight
• AMA Cross-Unit Support of Key Initiatives

Requirements

• MD or DO required
• At least 15 years' experience, with at least 5 in an academic environment and 5 in a clinical practice setting
• Deep expertise and established reputation in one or more medical or public health areas relevant to the AMA agenda
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire an experienced professional staff to perform at a high level
• In-depth knowledge of current issues and ability to participate on a senior level in appropriate policy forums
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and extensive staff
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills to deliver AMA messages to a wide variety of audiences

Benefits

The American Medical Association offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $420,000 - $450,000, an incentive plan, and a comprehensive benefits package. The role is exempt and located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $420,000 - $450,000.
