About the role

Advise Weapons Department personnel on ordnance safety, accountability, forecasting, and movement. Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance programs related to ordnance operations.

Responsibilities

• Advise Weapons Department personnel on ordnance safety, accountability, forecasting, and movement
• Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance programs related to ordnance operations

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of direct Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Armorer
• Working knowledge of Navy Ordnance Information System (OIS)
• Ordnance handling, storage, transportation, and accountability procedures
• Interpreting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to ordnance operations
• Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
• C clearance: Secret
• U.S. citizen
• Driver's License required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Must be able to operate Government vehicles, forklifts, and vans
• Maintain professional work ethic and reliability
• Demonstrate effective communication skills
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
• Comply with security, safety, and drug-free workplace requirements
• Capable of working within classified environments and systems (NIPRNET/SIPRNET)
• Able to lift and move ammunition and related equipment safely
• Able to stand and work for extended periods in armory or storage environments
• Able to work in high-risk environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
• Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

• Physical Demands and Work Environment: Regularly talk, listen, and write. Frequently use hands and arms. Stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
