About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one guitar lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and goals of each student.
- Teach proper guitar techniques, music theory, and performance skills.
- Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and examinations as needed.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
- Absess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Communicate regularly with students and their families regarding progress and any concerns.
- Stay current with teaching methods, repertoire, and trends in music education.
- Participate in school events, recitals, and community outreach programs as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience teaching guitar to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Strong proficiency in guitar performance and a solid understanding of music theory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students in their musical journey.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching music.
- Availability to teach during evenings and weekends (negotiable/flexible).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or related field.
- Availability to teach at least 8 hours per week; two evenings a week minimum, but more preferred; core hours 4pm to 8pm.
- Strong musical ability, as well as proven skills with your instrument.
- Previous experience as a music teacher preferred.
- Strong motivational skills.
