Guest Services Specialist (Part-Time)

About the role

This position is primarily an outdoors position, so you must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. This role ensures that guests of Monticello feel welcomed, supported, and informed.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with timed ticketing
• Security screening processes
• Line management
• Informing guests about current programs, exhibitions, and special events
• Providing services as necessary to accommodate group guests and guests with disabilities
• Performing additional customer service duties as assigned for special events and projects
• Aiding guests with inquiries and wayfinding as needed

• Demonstrated ability to resolve guest issues
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments
• An interest in the history of Monticello

Qualifications

• Computer proficiency
• A willingness to learn new technology
• Standing for extended periods and some walking required
• Some lifting of items up to 40 lbs. necessary

Benefits

• Compensation: $15.00 per hour
• Available at least 8 days per month, including two weekend days
• Opportunity for evening work over the course of the year, during the summer and also during the winter holidays
