Guest Services Driver PRN
Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for the safe and timely transport of patients and visitors. Responsibilities include: excellent customer service, effective communication skills, follows applicable policies/procedures, attitude of ownership, ability to effectively coordinate with other hospital staff, physicians and departments.
Job Specific Duties
- Appropriately greets each patient and/or visitor and deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintains a daily safety checklist prior to driving the golf cart to ensure safety features are in working order.
- Follows through with requests for transportation in a timely fashion.
- Transports guests from one destination to another on hospital campus.
- Maintains proper usage of Security radio so driver can be contacted regarding a pick-up/drop-off.
- Makes rounds on campus and in the parking garages every 5-10 minutes not exceeding the 5mph speed limit and obeying all traffic regulations.
- Aids in maintaining the professional appearance of equipment and carts by keeping them clean and free of trash.
- Fulfills policy as to where on campus the drivers can provide transportation and which buildings we do not service.
- Parks carts safely in the P1 garage and clean carts daily which may include deep cleaning and detailing as required.
- Maintains appropriate par levels of NFRMC literature, visitor guides, etc for distribution to guests when requested.
- Follows guidelines concerning communicable disease and use of Universal Precautions.
- Utilizes appropriate equipment to protect patient and staff.
- Provides service recovery to guests by providing accurate information and referring guest concerns to appropriate department.
- Works closely with Hospital Concierge to provide safe and timely transportation upon request, provide directions, etc.
- Orients patients and visitors to surroundings.
- Notifies Director of Guest Services immediately of any mechanical or maintenance issues with the golf carts.
- Follows policy when needing to refuel the gas golf cart through the Plant Ops department.
- Aids patients and their families with information regarding transport.
- Seeks ways to assist fellow staff and ancillary departments.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Maintains and promotes customer relations.
- Assesses and maintains equipment in readiness for transport.
- Follows chain of command regarding occurrences, incidents and complaints, completing all paperwork.
- Completes job specific competency/skills checklist and is able to demonstrate required skills and /or verbalize advance knowledge base related to specific skills.
- Performs other related functions as assigned.
