Guest Service Representative

Jamaica Bay Inn, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is seeking a Guest Service Representative to deliver exceptional service and exceed guest expectations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Greet arriving guests and complete check-in procedures to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Facilitate guest departures by following established procedures to close accounts and determine future room availability.
• Calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and credit using proper cash handling methods to present accurate charges at check-out.
• Answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and over the phone, utilizing company reservation guidelines.
• Communicate hotel rates and information, use suggestive selling techniques, and create value for guests.
• Maintain guest relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns promptly.
• Operate PBX equipment, including handling incoming/outgoing calls, setting wake-up calls, and communicating with guests.
• Control cash and credit transactions at the front desk and maintain responsibility for a personal bank as per hotel policy.
• Process guest mail, messages, and faxes by receiving, sorting, notifying, and distributing them in a timely manner.
• Contribute to and maintain department and front desk logbooks to enhance communication and operations.
• Assist other team members and departments to support overall hotel performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Pay

$19.38 - $20.00 per hour
