About the role
Ensure clean and orderly guest rooms while delivering top-quality customer service. All duties are performed within Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies, procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Service guest rooms using cleaning agents and equipment per departmental policies.
- Remove, inventory, and replace soiled linens; prepare rooms for guest arrivals.
- Organize and/or replenish guestroom amenities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly cart with adequate supplies.
- Assist other departmental personnel as needed.
- Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Stay current with information security policies, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons; communicate pleasantly, professionally, and courteously.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of hire.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior hotel cleaning experience preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills for conducting inventories and counting linens.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills; ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and employees.
- Diplomatic and tactful problem/conflict resolution.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Work environment is moderately loud; increases to loud on the casino floor.
- Must be able to work where smoking is permitted.
- Stand and walk 90% of the time while servicing rooms.
- Use commercial cleaning agents to service rooms.
- Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Push cleaning cart and operate vacuums.
- Push or lift approximately 20–25 pounds of furniture, equipment, trash, and linens.
- Understand and communicate effectively with patrons and employees.
- Stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Maintain physical stamina and mental composure to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
Pay
Starting rate: $16.00 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
