Guard II

About the role

Shields Point, LLC is seeking first and second shift unarmed security guard supervisors (Guard II) to direct shift personnel and ensure a safe, secure environment. This role involves overseeing physical security measures to safeguard personnel, prevent unauthorized access, and protect against espionage, sabotage, damage, and theft. The position is contingent upon contract award and requires passing entry-level and annual re-certification of the standard physical agility test.

Responsibilities

• Drag, carry, lift, or pull a person to safety.
• Use physical force to detain a subject or prevent unauthorized entry.
• Endure prolonged standing, dodging, crawling, and climbing while wearing duty equipment and/or personal protective equipment.
• Operate both as a team member and independently during incidents of uncertain duration.
• Spend extensive time outside exposed to environmental elements, including extreme weather conditions.
• Perform physically demanding work in hot, humid, wet, icy, or muddy conditions while wearing duty equipment.
• Withstand frequent transitions between hot/cold and humid/dry atmospheres.
• Work on slippery or hazardous surfaces (e.g., icy pavement, wet grass).
• Operate in environments with potential for traumatic or thermal injuries.
• Properly wear personal protective equipment (up to 30 pounds) during emergencies.
• Perform complex tasks during life-threatening emergencies, including making rapid life-or-death decisions.
• Maintain composure when exposed to traumatic sights, smells, or chaotic environments.
• Make rapid transitions from rest to near-maximum exertion without warm-up periods.
• Maintain balance, flexibility, and physical capability under adverse conditions.
• Operate in high-noise, low-visibility, or limited-mobility environments.
• Rely on senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch) to assess emergencies and ensure personal safety.
• Distinguish colors for reading placards/signs and respond to hazards in low-light conditions.
• Verbally communicate effectively in noisy circumstances and distinguish low-intensity sounds.
• Judge distances accurately (within 13 feet) for situational awareness.
• Perform crowd control and accurately use radios, flashlights, and less-lethal implements while moving.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 18+ years of age.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in security operations, law enforcement, or military, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
• Proven experience managing a security shift of eight (8) guards.
• Background in security program management, access control, and force protection.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to pass a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, understanding, and writing English.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Meet annual physical health/stamina requirements and pass a medical exam.
• Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) with the following requirements:
  • 19 pushups in 2 minutes.
  • 1.5-mile run in 17:30 minutes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google applications.
• Willingness to learn new computer programs and applications.
• Complete approximately 56 hours of company-provided training.

Pay

$22.00 hourly.
