Shields Point, LLC has an opening for first, second, and third shift unarmed security guard supervisors (Guard II). The Guard II will direct shift personnel to ensure a safe, secure environment for all. Requires a minimum of three years in security operations, law enforcement, or the military, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity, and experience managing a security shift of eight guards.

About the role

The Guard II oversees physical security measures designed to safeguard personnel; prevent unauthorized access to equipment, installations, material, and documents; and protect against espionage, sabotage, damage, and theft. This position requires passing the entry-level and annual re-certification of the standard physical agility test.

Responsibilities

  • Able to drag, carry, lift, and/or pull a person to safety.
  • Able to use physical force to detain a subject or prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Able to endure prolonged standing on feet.
  • Able to dodge, crawl, and climb.
  • Able to perform physical functions while wearing duty equipment and/or personal protective equipment, under adverse environmental conditions.
  • Able to operate both as a team member and independently at incidents of uncertain duration.
  • Able to spend extensive time outside exposed to environmental elements.
  • Able to tolerate environmental extremes (e.g., hot, cold, humid, dry atmospheres).
  • Able to perform physically demanding work in hot and humid conditions while wearing duty equipment.
  • Able to work (including walking, running, standing, pulling, and pushing) in wet, icy, or muddy areas.
  • Able to perform tasks on slippery or hazardous surfaces (e.g., icy pavement, wet grass, leaves).
  • Able to work in areas where traumatic or thermal injuries are possible.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment weighing approximately 30 pounds during emergencies.
  • Able to perform complex tasks during life-threatening emergencies.
  • Able to work for long periods requiring sustained physical activity and intense concentration.
  • Able to make life-or-death decisions during emergencies.
  • Able to maintain composure when exposed to grotesque sights and smells (e.g., major trauma, burn victims).
  • Able to transition rapidly from rest to near-maximum exertion without warm-up.
  • Able to maintain balance under adverse conditions, weight loads, and at heights.
  • Able to operate in environments with high noise, poor visibility, and limited mobility.
  • Able to rely on senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch) to assess emergencies and ensure personal safety.
  • Able to distinguish colors for reading placards and street signs in low-light conditions.
  • Able to perform duties temporarily if eyeglasses are broken or displaced.
  • Able to verbally communicate effectively under noisy circumstances.
  • Able to distinguish low-intensity voice sounds from background noise.
  • Able to judge distances closer than 13 feet (tested via depth perception or field test).
  • Able to perform crowd control.
  • Able to use radios, flashlights, and less-lethal implements while moving and communicating.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 18+ years of age.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in security operations, law enforcement, or military.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to pass a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, understanding, and writing English.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must meet annual physical health/stamina requirements and pass a medical exam.
  • Must pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT): 19 pushups in 2 minutes and a 1.5-mile run in 17:30 minutes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google applications.
  • Willingness to learn new computer programs and applications.
  • Must complete approximately 56 hours of company-provided training.

Pay

$22.00 hourly.
