GSE Mechanic

About the role

As a GSE Mechanic at Alvest Equipment Services (AES), you’ll maintain and repair various ground support equipment (GSE), including tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, deicers, and more. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems and ensure proper documentation, safety, and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Use Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to document all repairs
• Follow safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA)
• Participate in continuous improvement and training opportunities

Requirements

• 1–4 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems
• Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background
• Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
• Must provide own hand tools
• Strong communication skills
• Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver’s license
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• English language proficiency

Qualifications

• Preferred: Med/Heavy Truck or Light Truck Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
• Preferred: Universal HVAC certification
• Additional incentive: Earn more by completing ASE certifications in T‑Series Medium/Heavy Equipment or A‑Series Light Truck and receive a one‑time bonus for becoming a Certified Master Technician; first test attempt paid by AES.
