Responsibilities
- Turn data into decisions: deliver insights and recommendations that shape how leadership thinks about growth
- Spot opportunities others miss—whether that's untapped revenue streams, efficiency gains, or market expansion plays
- Stay ahead of the curve on AI and generative AI—identifying where tools like LLMs, automation, or forecasting models can meaningfully improve growth decisions
- Work across editorial, marketing, sales, and leadership to define what success looks like—and measure it
- Build frameworks that make sense of performance across platforms and divisions, each with its own dynamics
- Dig into large, messy datasets—sales, marketing, distribution, audience behavior—and extract what matters
- Translate fuzzy business questions into concrete analytical approaches
- Build dashboards and reports that people actually use—clear, actionable, no fluff
- Run experiments and A/B tests to validate hypotheses before committing resources
- Keep data clean, documented, and trustworthy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
- 5+ years of hands-on analytical experience—and a track record of work that moved the needle
- Strategic thinker: see patterns, connect dots, and know how to zoom in and out
- Familiar with marketing and sales funnels, KPIs, and optimization strategies
- Proficient in Python for analysis and automation, Excel power user (advanced functions, data modeling), and strong SQL skills
- Proficient in Power BI for visualization and reporting
- Creative and resourceful—you find ways to solve problems that aren't obvious
- Clear communicator who can make complex findings land with non-technical audiences
- Self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do
- Desirable: hands-on experience with generative AI tools and prompting, familiarity with digital marketing channels and how to measure them, background in publishing, media, or e-commerce, experience with pricing optimization or managing large product catalogs
