Job Summary
We are seeking a Growth Engineer to design, build, and scale our growth engine. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and marketing instincts to convert a skeptical security audience.
About the Role
As a Growth Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated growth strategies that drive user acquisition and engagement. You will also be expected to conduct high-tempo experimentation and iterate on campaigns across various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own the Growth Engine: Architect and wire the automation layer (APIs, webhooks, LLM agents) that turns product triggers into programmatic upsells.
- Do Things That Don't Scale: Hustle manually to validate new channels and tactics before automating and scaling them.
- Rapidly ship, measure, and iterate on campaigns across HackerNews, Reddit, and LinkedIn to compound user acquisition.
- Technical Chops + Marketing Instincts: Write the scripts necessary to stitch our systems together and the copy required to convert security engineers.
- AppSec Maturity: Move fast and break things in the automation layer while maintaining industry context to ensure user trust, privacy, and brand reputation.
- Excellent communicator: Strong writing, researching, and communication skills to craft copy that resonates with a technical audience.
- Development experience: Enough to code your own growth automations and stitch systems together.
- Technical audience expertise: Experience targeting security and development teams as customers or writing for deeply technical audiences.
- Campaign experience: Hands-on experience running email campaigns, GTM campaigns, and sales enablement programs.
- Death by PowerPoint: Bias towards action rather than spending time on pitch decks for minor experiments.
- Vanity Metrics: Focus on pipeline, product usage, and revenue rather than vanity metrics like impressions.
- Vendor Management Hell: Build leaner, faster systems yourself instead of evaluating bloated enterprise marketing software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software security and marketing design.
- Experience with API development and webhooks.
- Strong technical chops to wire together agents and APIs.
- Marketing instincts to convert a skeptical security audience.
- AppSec maturity to communicate with credibility.
- Excellent communicator with strong writing, researching, and communication skills.
- Development experience, even if not in a formal engineering role.
- Experience targeting security and development teams as customers or writing for deeply technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience running email campaigns, GTM campaigns, and sales enablement programs.
Qualifications
- Competitive compensation: Base salary of $180,000 and equity package with high growth potential.
- Actual impact: Your work directly shapes how we acquire and grow our user base.
- Learning opportunities: Budget for conferences, books, and tools to support your growth.
- Solid team: Work with a team of ex-AWS engineers and security experts who are genuinely excited about what they build.
- Quick chat with a founder: Opportunity to discuss your experience with growth engineering and what excites you about this space.
- Technical discussion: Walk us through a growth experiment or automation you built and the decisions behind it.
- Paid work trial: Work on a real problem with the team and see if we're a mutual fit.
Benefits
- San Francisco based: Work from our SF office.
