Group Therapist - Part-Time
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
About the role
As a Group Therapist at Chicago Behavioral Hospital, you will play a vital role in addressing the bio-psychosocial needs of patients. This position involves performing social services functions and guiding patients in accessing therapeutic treatment skills to achieve optimal emotional health. You will offer basic consultation, deliver specialized clinical social work services, provide crisis intervention, and conduct short-term and long-term family therapy. Your work will include providing information and referrals to support the well-being of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, couples, and family counseling with a focus on engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with community agencies for patient assessment and services.
- Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions and patient responses.
- Assess the psychosocial, educational, and behavioral functioning of patients and document updates.
- Utilize age-specific considerations in treatment planning.
- Respond promptly to social work service requests.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the patient's program and meet social work needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
- Ensure specific, measurable goals and interventions are defined.
- Adhere to specific standards for the care of diverse patient populations.
- Utilize appropriate interventions in psychiatric emergencies.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical-related mental health field (preferred).
- Illinois State license in social work or a clinical-related mental health field (preferred).
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
- Strong clinical assessment skills.
- Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
- May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Pay
This is a part-time role with an expected compensation range of $28–$33.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
