About the role

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for leading the group sales team in managing existing accounts and identifying and cultivating new accounts for the Equipment Division. This includes calling on independent and multi-unit restaurants, architects, and other professionals at commercial, industrial, and other establishments to persuade prospective clients about the desirability and practicability of the products or services offered.

Responsibilities

  • Trains direct reports on design guidelines and best practices for industry and client market segment.
  • Develops and prepares cost estimates or projected increases in production from client's use of proposed equipment or services using existing customer documents.
  • Aids staff in making equipment selections, process improvements, or use of materials or services that would result in cost reduction or improvement in operations.
  • Drafts up sales contracts for products or services, reviews for accuracy, and ensures best pricing strategies and discount structures.
  • Identifies potential clients through knowledge of territory, focusing on existing businesses, startups, and non-food service businesses with potential equipment needs.
  • Qualifies potential clients through interviews and observations, suggesting products to improve productivity.
  • Matches client needs against known products and stock items, and advises on products with multiple uses.
  • Verifies product identification with actual end users, such as chefs.
  • Advocates for the use of NexGen and preferred vendors, providing training and support for the brands.
  • Assists new clients in setting up credit accounts, assisting/advising them on necessary documentation.
  • Participates in resolving credit problems related to returns, defective merchandise, and service issues.
  • Maintains existing accounts by performing various responsibilities including booking orders, analyzing needs, and acting as a consultant.

Requirements

Minimum High School or GED. 3–5 Years Related Experience. Previous experience in Foodservice equipment and supplies field is required. Preferred 2- or 4-year college or university degree.
