Your Role On Our Team
The Strategic Operations Manager plays a key role in driving cross-functional initiatives, ensuring new product readiness for all operations, improving operational efficiency, and supporting strategic planning across the organization. This role partners with senior leadership to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure alignment with long-term business goals.
This role reports to the Group Operations Manager and is responsible for strategic initiatives for the Service/Returns and Kitting/Manufacturing Operations. This position is a key member of Service Operations leadership. The successful candidate will oversee the Project Leaders for Service Operations and NPD/Project leaders for Byhalia Kitting Manufacturing Operations and will collaborate closely with counterparts in all plants and at the corporate level.
Through These Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan and execute long term macro operations strategy for Service, Returns, and Byhalia Manufacturing
- Ownership of footprinting plan for supporting organizations
- Manage capital budgets for all operations
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive change and implement new processes and systems needed to successfully manufacture products to meet the needs of a rapidly growing business
- Drive overall Manufacturing process planning to deliver consistent site readiness within our global NPD programs
- Ensure consistency in early estimates on manufacturing routings and capital requirements
- Create and maintain environments that are obsessed with providing world-class engineering disciplines in coordination with sister plants, corporate counterparts, and support organizations
- Continually develop the Project Leader teams themselves, increasing their skills as educators and professionals
- Lead and support strategic projects that improve operational performance and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and implement best practices
- Analyze business data to develop insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track progress against strategic goals
- Support executive leadership in annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders
- Manage change initiatives and ensure smooth execution of transformation efforts
- Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment and effective communication
The TOOLS You’ll Bring With You
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, Operations Management or Industrial Technology, or equivalent education/ work experience
- Leverage Lean / Six Sigma certification or training is highly desired
- 5+ years experience in strategic operations, business consulting, or project management
- Experience with new product development and/or Design for manufacturing is highly desired
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired
- 3+ years experience leading people is required
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and project management software
- Demonstrated success in: Creating a high performing engineering organization centered around a strong company culture
- High-change / high-growth environments
- Working cross-functionally with geographically distributed support functions and sister plants performing similar activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
Travel During Initial Training and As Needed
Travel during initial training will be regular and frequent. Travel will be required as needed for project support and execution.
