Group Life Counselor I, II, or III

Position Summary

The Group Life Counselor I, II, or III position is available for our Youth Treatment Center in Seattle, WA. The descriptions below outline the job duties and requirements for GLC I, GLC II, and GLC III.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation, and supervision of patients.
• GLC II: Provide services to out-of-control, high-risk, chronic runaway youth with primary diagnoses of chemical dependency and mental health problems.
• GLC III: Facilitate treatment educational groups and provide services in individual or group sessions, working closely with CDP in treatment activities.

Requirements

• GLC I: Entry level position requiring a base to moderate understanding of direct services.
• GLC II: Mid-level position requiring a moderate to complete understanding of direct services, B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or at least two years of experience working with high-risk youth.
• GLC III: Mid-level position requiring a B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Addictions, or related field, at least two years’ experience in working with at-risk populations, and experience working with high-risk youth or adults preferred.

Education and/or Experience

• GLC I: No specific education or experience required.
• GLC II: B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or two years of experience working with high-risk youth.
• GLC III: B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Addictions, or related field, at least two years’ experience in working with at-risk populations, and experience working with high-risk youth or adults preferred.
