Group Life Counselor I, II, or III

Position Summary

The Group Life Counselor I, II, or III positions are available within Sea Mar's Behavioral Health Department, specifically at Renacer Youth Treatment Center. This position is full-time and requires a background check from DSHS and Washington State Patrol at hire and yearly. Candidates must have a Washington State driver’s license if applicable and maintain CPR and First-Aid certifications.

Group Life Counselor I

• Part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Provide direct services including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation, and supervision of patients
• Expected to have a "base to moderate" understanding of providing direct services
• Must understand chemical dependency as a treatable illness and a public health problem

Group Life Counselor II

• Part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Provide direct services including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation, and supervision of patients
• Work with out-of-control, high-risk, chronic runaway youth with primary diagnoses of chemical dependency and mental health problems
• Must have a B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or at least two years of experience working with high-risk youth
• Must receive a background check from DSHS and Washington State Patrol at hire and yearly

Group Life Counselor III

• Part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Provide direct services including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, and supervision of patients
• Facilitate treatment educational groups and provide services in individual or group sessions
• Work closely with CDP in treatment activities
• Must have a B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Addictions, or related field, or an Associates degree in Chemical Dependency with at least two years' experience in working with at-risk populations
