Group Leader - Pheresis

About the role

This position involves performing pheresis procedures and plasma collections, educating donors, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs pheresis procedures and plasma collections according to SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluates vein performance and adjusts the donation process to ensure efficiency and donor safety.
• Trains and guides donor floor staff and other staff members.
• Maintains cleanliness and supplies on the donor floor.
• Monitors and troubleshoots equipment failures, documenting incidents and resolving issues.
• Ensures accurate donor data recording and maintains confidentiality.
• Supports center management with staff scheduling and resolves minor issues.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months experience in a medical or health care environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization.

• Ability to make decisions with moderate impact.
• Understands, remembers, and communicates routine, factual information.
• Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Wears Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Works overtime and extended hours as needed.
